Join us for a fantastic talk about about diving with living fossils!  Johan Boshoff will be giving a presentation about an expedition he was part of to search for coelacanths off the east coast of Africa.

In case you don’t know about coelacanths, they are a species of fish originally thought to have gone extinct 66 million years ago, and previously only found in fossil records.  However, they were “rediscovered” by fisherman off the coast of Africa.

Johan was part of an expedition to locate and film the living fossil, and will detail the search, the technical aspects of the diving, as well as some great video, pictures, and stories.

Talk will be held at the UWA Water Sports Centre, starting at 7pm, with a cocktail session beforehand at 6:45pm (BYO drinks).
