Dunsborough and The Lena:  TRIP 1 – 3 days (Wed 24th to Fri 26th January)

It’s time for the Club to head back down to Dunsborough to dive the HMAS Swan and the amazing waters around Cape Naturaliste. This year we also plan to include a dive on The Lena on the way down (for trip 1).

Trip schedule:

Wednesday 24th January

• In the morning, make your own way down south, meeting in Bunbury to dive on The Lena.
• After the dive, drive further south to Busselton to check into our accommodation – the Luxury Guest House (Busselton Holiday Village). There’s an option to arrive Thursday morning if you’re on the afternoon dives.

Thursday 25th January

• We will slip Doris into the sweet waters of Geographe Bay early on Thursday morning, ready for the morning dive group. Around midday, Doris will return to the boat ramp and the afternoon group will go out for their dives.

Friday 26th January

• Again we put Doris into the water first thing in the morning for two boat dives, then swap with the afternoon group around midday for their two dives.
• Tidy up and check out of accommodation, so the Trip 2 (Fri-Mon) group can settle in.

In addition to the planned boat dives there’s also the option to organise your own night dives and shore dives, or maybe wine / brewery visits.

The accommodation:

We have again managed to secure the Luxury Guest House (Busselton Holiday Village). In addition to privacy, comfort and cleanliness, we will also have plenty of secure parking for cars and Doris, relaxing indoor and outdoor living areas and plenty of secure wash / drying areas for dive gear.

The Cost:

Included in the trip cost are 2 nights accommodation (Wednesday and Thursday nights), all boat dives, all meals and snacks and permit to dive the HMAS Swan.

Please note: Air fills are not included, but you can get your tanks filled at the Swan Dive Shop (5 mins from accommodation).

IMPORTANT: We are a club operated by volunteers that love to dive. If you are attending this trip you will be required to contribute to the running of the weekend which may include cooking and/or cleaning up after meals; helping to set up, launch, retrieve and clean the boat; boat sitting (while divers are in the water) etc.

This trip is a Club favourite and will fill fast, so be quick! Cancellations requiring refunds will incur a nominal fee.
